Deep Tech Startups

 The phrase "Deep Tech Startups" has been around for a while, originally referring to the research and development departments of large defence and telecommunications companies like Raytheon Technologies, Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works, and Bell Labs, to the more recent definition that increasingly includes venture capital ecosystem companies. The phrase is used to describe a group of young businesses that create new goods "on the basis of real engineering innovation or scientific discovery," not innovation itself. The most Deep Tech Startups significant deep tech fields in 2019 included advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, blockchain, robotics, photonics, electronics, and quantum computing, according to research by the Boston Consulting Group and Hello Tomorrow, a French nonprofit that supports deep technology.
